What is Employment Support?
Employment Support is a service designed to assist anyone with mental health problems to find work and live independently in the community. The service aims to provide a holistic support programme that can be individually tailored to meet your needs and aspirations, and to help facilitate your transition towards employment, volunteering or training.
How do I access Employment support?
Once you have had your assessment you can agree with your support worker that this is a group that would benefit you.
What support does the service provide?
Through the service people can access support in many areas to help increase your independence and work related skills. You can access advice on possible career opportunities and create development plans to move towards your employment goals, focusing on your strengths and abilities, and overcoming barriers you may face.
1-1 Support
We offer tailored support with practical issues such as writing a CV, explaining gaps in your work history, interview practice and advice with applications and job searching techniques.
Group Support
Come along to our weekly “Job Hub” where we offer workshops to help you build confidence and resilience alongside practical discussions around common topics. We have a range of speakers coming in from relevant organisations in the local community that can help you in your journey back towards work. Don’t worry if you don’t feel ready to go back to work at the moment – we can also support you to access volunteering opportunities or training to help you build confidence and relevant skills.
